Leonard Newman
MD
Leonard Newman, MD is the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at New York Medical College and the President of Children’s & Women’s Physicians of Westchester, LLP.
The Department of Pediatrics at New York Medical College was one of the first in the country to train pediatricians, dating back to the 1860’s in New York City. As such, it was the first to incorporate bedside teaching rounds in the training of physicians.
The Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital now serves as the primary site where the educational mission, clinical and basic research, as well as primary and subspecialty care are afforded the sickest children. Tertiary and quaternary services include the NICU, PICU, transplant services, Metabolic Center, Cystic Fibrosis Center, Oncology Center, surgical and all subspecialty services.
This faculty of outstanding physicians has significant research funding from the NIH, as well as major foundations.
It is my hope that those who visit our campus with the Children’s Hospital, or view our website, realize the commitment of our faculty to our mission of quality healthcare for children.
